Anné Linden and NYTI Print E-mail

anne-bio1.jpgAnné Linden, The First Lady of NLP, founded and is the director of the New York Training Institute for NLP (NYTI/NLP) in Manhattan, which is the first NLP Institute in the World. Anné was a witness to and participant in the creation of NLP. She was one of the members of the very first certification training group John Grinder and Richard Bandler offered. Over the years she developed a number of NLP models: Sorting by Other, Fair Witness, Spatial Reframe, Spiral Beliefs, The Senoi Fear Process, The Self Concept and Identity Model, and many others. She has created the unique Ericksonian Hypnosis Certification Training Program using NLP to make clearer and more accessible the genius of Dr. Milton Erickson. And after many years of research and experience she created an entirely new approach to interpersonal and intrapersonal communication and change: THE LINDEN BOUNDARIES MODEL.

In 1979 she – together with Leslie Cameron Bandler – organized the structure of the basic content of NLP into the Practitioner and Master Practitioner Certification Programs – fundamentally the way they are still given today. She had the opportunity to study for two summers with Dr. Milton H. Erickson, the world reknown hypnotherapist and founder of the Ericksonian approach to hypnotherapy. He is the most important ancestor of NLP without whom NLP would not exist. Before this she trained with many of the “greats” in the world of psychotherapy: Virginia Satir, Laura Perls, Moshe Feldenkrais, Robert Goulding, Fritz Perls and Salvatore Minuchin, among others.

She did her undergraduate work at Columbia University and received her graduate degree in psychology from Goddard College, trained in Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Psychodrama. She is a founding member, fellow and was on the Advisory Board as well as vice-president for several years of the National Association of NLP, the first non-profit professional organization in NLP that created the international standards for the training of NLP and the ethical guidelines for the use of NLP.

Her first two books, “Mindworks” and “The Enneagram and NLP” got excellent reviews and are still being read today and used as references. "Mindworks" has been translated into Danish, Spanish, German, Greek and Turkish and most recently Italian. An updated "Mindworks" has been reissued in paperback by Crown House Publishing. "The Enneagram and NLP" is in its 7th printing and has been translated into French and German. She recently completed her third book “Boundaries in Human Relationships: How to be Separate AND Connected” – about the phenomena of separateness and togetherness. It was published in 2008 in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand by Crown House Publishing, in France and Belgium by Intereditions, in the Netherlands and Belgium by Ankh-Hermes.

Nowadays she lives in the mountains two hours north of Manhattan with her Irish Wolfhounds. She still trains in Europe on a regular basis and continues to give trainings for small groups, does therapy and coaching at her home in the Hudson Valley.

Anné’s teaching interactions are widely recognized as powerful and moving demonstrations of her ability to clarify information for the conscious mind and touch the unconscious in ways that activate and help realize each person’s potential.

brooklyn-bridge-small.jpg The NYTI/NLP has an international reputation for the highest quality of trainings as reflected by Anné’s vision of NLP that is anchored in the values of clarity, integrity and idealism. One of Anné’s ideals is to communicate the purity and depth of NLP without the distortions and superfluous additions that plague so many training programs. In her training she emphasizes the vital connections and patterns beneath the structure of NLP that enable these fundamentals to even exist – to go far deeper than merely the techniques of NLP. Anné has 30 years of experience training NLP in the USA, Europe and Israel. She has given over 200 certification programs, brought NLP to Europe in 1982 doing the first Certification Program in the Netherlands, and certifying the first European Trainers in 1985. Anné has been director of the therapeutic clinic, The NLP Center for Psychotherapy and trained therapists for 27 years while maintaining an active private practice and consulting for some major companies. She continues to teach an NLP Certification Program each year in New York, but concentrates mostly now on her trainings in Ericksonian Hypnosis and her Boundaries Training Program.
